 parati stelle Grabbing Stars

The Grabbing Stars were seven animal friends, who met every afternoon to spend time together.

They were Theseus, a sympathetic hippopotamus, Achilles, a proud crocodile, Hercules, a noble lion, Menelaus, a sweet panda, Ulysses, a great elephant, Ettore, an agile chimpanzee, and Paride, a witty canary.

They spent many fun days together, but also some, alas, sometimes boring.

One day then, Menelaus the panda proposed to stay together even at night, to watch the starry sky together. So it was that the seven friends all found themselves with their noses up, admiring the spectacle of the sky. It really was a special night: the sky was clean and the stars shone more than ever. Everyone was really happy to have stayed awake at night enjoying such a wonder. “What a splendor!” Said Teseo the hippopotamus. “And how many there are!” Added Hercules the lion. The enthusiastic comments really did not spare.

To which, Achilles the crocodile proposed: “And if we tried to take some?”
Everyone was surprised by that proposal. Take the stars? And how? They were so high! Achilles the crocodile proposed to try all of them: in the end there were seven, one way they would find it!

Everyone then tried as best he could: Hercules the lion tried to reach them by jumping with his strong lion’s paws, Hector the chimpanzee climbed up a tree and tried to take them from up there, Paris the canary flew as high as he could, and Ulysses the elephant tried to grab them with his long proboscis.

But no one seemed to be able to get close enough to those shining stars.

Then Teseo the hippopotamus realized that the only solution would be to collaborate all together; they would have composed a large tower by placing themselves one above the other, and from there the last animal on top would have succeeded in the enterprise.

So it was that, in order, they climbed one on top of the other first Menelaus the panda, then Achilles the crocodile, Hercules the lion, Ulysses the elephant, Ettore the chimpanzee and Theseus the hippopotamus, but not finding the balance they got just a big tumble! “Ouch, ouch. Something went wrong, ”murmured Ettore the chimpanzee. “What did we do wrong?” Wondered Menelaus the panda. “I’ll tell you”, Paride the canary intervened. “You have not found balance because you have all come up at random! We must find a solution. “First, he proposed to use Achilles the crocodile as a base: its elongated shape and its robust back would have been an excellent support. But Achilles refused: he would have accepted to stay under all the others, but Ulysses the elephant really weighed so much!

It was then thought that the best solution would have been to settle down from the largest to the smallest: first Ulysses the elephant, then Achilles the crocodile, Theseus the hippopotamus, Menelaus the panda, Hercules the lion and last Hector the monkey, with a long net in hand; Paride the canary would direct the work.

With a little effort, the seven friends managed to set up the tower; they were really high, and Ettore the monkey finally managed to capture dozens and dozens of stars. “Take those up there!” Shouted Odysseus the elephant. “That one over there is the brightest!” Paride the Canary rejoiced.

And so the seven friends had many, many stars to play with.
Hercules filled his mane, and was soon the envy of all the other lions; Paride put one in its beak and flew happily into the sky, and they all began to admire it; Theseus and Achilles put a handful of them into the river and splashed about happily in the water; Menelaus took some of them and made a pretty and shiny hat, which Ettore stole, and they ended up hilariously to chase each other; Ulysses, on the other hand, even built a castle for us! It was a really fun night for all of them.

But soon someone began to complain, because the sky had suddenly become pitch black. “Where did the stars go?” Someone wondered. “I don’t see anything anymore!” Another complained.

And indeed, the seven friends had really taken too many stars from heaven, which had been stripped of what was most beautiful to offer.

But how to do it? It was so fun to play with those beautiful, bright stars! They were the most precious of the games they had ever had, and they never wanted to free them. But Achilles the crocodile, the same one who proposed trying to catch them, realized that the stars belonged to everyone, and that it was really selfish to think that they could be kept only for themselves.

So it was that the seven friends patiently collected all the stolen stars and put them back where they had found them.

The sky returned to the shining spectacle they had the chance to see, and everyone could admire it again. But from time to time, without giving the eye, those seven companions gathered to form a large tower and just take a few stars to play with it all together, just for a few hours, and put it back in place very carefully.

After all, they were the Stars catchers!
